what was america's reaction to fords pardonning? many ams. were angered by the pardon and lost the good feelings for ford
economic policy ford had promised a balanced budget with cuts in fed. spending. the democrats were against this - called for spending increases -> ford made changes in budgetthat would bring it to more of congres's favor
what was one of the main problems ford had to face? how did he deal with it? rising inflation - used price controls to hold prices down -> not able to do much more than nixon did to slow inflation
deregulation ford, removing price controls on gas and oil - prices would rise -> people use less fuel. higher profits from higher prices=aid companies in develop. new forms of energy - was not able to pass this my congress
