pull factors something that brings people into an area
birthrate number of births per thousand that live

orographic precipitation-warm moist air rises over mts and cools=rain
frontal precipitation-warm and cool air masses meet
traditional economy goods and services are exchanged without money
command economy goods and services, prices, and payment of workers that is set by a central government plan
market economy all production of goods and services are set by the demand (capitalism)
mixed economy combination of command and market economic systems
infrastructure basic support systems to keep the economy going... water, power, cell phone towers
primary activities gathering raw material and using as is-firewood
secondary activities adding value to materials by changing their form-making cars
tertiary activities providing business or professional or service-doctor
quarternary activities research or management services by highly trained people
democracy citizens hold the power directly or through representitives
monarchy ruling family
dictatorship individual or group holds political power
communism government and economic system holds all power
