parallel another name for a line of latitude
meridian another name of a line of longitude
prime meridian line of longitude at 0 degrees
cartographer person who makes maps
cardinal directions four points on a compass (N,S,E,W)
intermediate directions directions halfway between the cardinal directions (NE, NW, SE, SW)
