Ottoman Empire Was one of the largest and longest lasting dynasties to rule the Islamic world and started in turkey.
Anti- Semitism Hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group.
Zionism A worldwide Jewish movement that resulted in the establishment and development of the state of Israel.
Partition A division into or distribution in portions or shares.
Palestine Also called Holy Land. Biblical name Canaan. An ancient country in SW Asia, on the E coast of the Mediterranean.
Arab- Israeli Wars Tension between Arabs and Israeli erupted into a brief war in June 1967; Israel emerged as a major power in the Middle East.
Persian Gulf War A war fought between Iraq and a coalition led by the United States that freed Kuwait from Iraqi invaders; 1990-1991.
Nationalism Spirit or aspirations common to the whole of a nation.
