Allen's Cognitive levels

Conscious but unable to perform basic functions independently; requires constant care & supervision Level 1
Can initiate actions in response to basic comfort/discomfort; attention span present but brief (a few minutes);requires constant care & supervision Level 2
Will interact with objects or the environment, but without purpose or goals; may behave destructively; can perform basic functions if instructed to do so Level 3
