| Archipelago | A large body of water with many islands. |
| Bog | A wet spongy ground with soil composed mainly of decayed vegetable matter. |
| Delta | A triangular tract of sediment deposited at the mouth of a river. |
| Fjord | A long narrow, deep inlet of the sea between high cliffs |
| Flood plain | A low plain adjacent to a river that is formed chiefly of river sediment. |
| Glacier | A slow moving mass of ice. |
| Island | A piece of land surrounded by water. |
| Isthmus | A narrow strip of land with sea on either side forming a link between two larger areas of land. |
| Peninsula | An area of land almost completely surrounded by water. |
| Plain | A large flat area with very few trees. |
| Plateau | An area of relatively high ground. |
| Rifts | A long steep valley formed when two parallel rifts form in the earth's crust. |
| Straight | A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water. |
| Tributary | A river or stream flowing into a large river or lake. |
