| Basin | a partially sheltered area along a shore |
| Sea | salt waters that cover the greater part of earths surface |
| plateau | an area of land witha flat surface raised above the land around it |
| swamp | wet spongey land |
| slope | ground with a natural incline, like the side of a hill |
| volcano | a vent in the earths crustwhich hot lava is expelled |
| tributary | a stream that flows into a larger body of water |
| valley | a long depression of land between hills or mountains following a stream |
| waterfall | a steep fall of water |
| canyon | a deep valley with steap sides |
| cape | a piece of land jutting into the sea or water |
| cataract | a rush or downpoor of water |
| delta | a mass of sand or setiment at the mouth of a river |
| dune | a sand hill or ridge formed by wind |
| strait | a narrow passage of water connecting two large bodies of water |
| sea level | level to the surface of the sea |
| reef | a ridge of rocks or sand |
| gulf | part of an ocean or sea partly enclosed by land |
