| bay | part of a body of water that is partly enclosed by land |
| canyon | deep, narrow valley with high, steep sides |
| climate | pattern of weather in a particular place in the past 20 to 30 years |
| geography | the study of people, their environments and resources |
| glacier | a thick sheet of ice |
| gulf | part of an ocean or sea that is partly enclosed by land, usually larger than bay |
| hill | area of raised land that is lower ant rounder than a muntain |
| island | land area that is surrounded by water |
| isthmus | narrow strip of land joining two large areas or joining a peninsula to the mainland |
| lake | a body of water surrounded by land |
| mountain | high, steep, rugged land that rises sharply above surrounding land |
| ocean | any of the five largest bodies of saltwater on Earth's surface |
| peninsula | piece o land surrounded by water on three sides |
| plains | broad area of fairly level land that is generally near the sea |
| plateau | large areas of high, flat, gently rolling land |
| river | large stream of water that empties into an ocean of lake |
| tributary | stream or small river that flows into a larger river or stream |
| valley | land that lies between hills or mountains |
| weather | condition of the Earth's atmosphere at any given time or place |
