| plain | a large area with flat land and a few trees. |
| tributary | a river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake. |
| glacier | a large body of ice moving slowly down a slope or valley or spreading outward on a land surrface. |
| strait | a narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water. |
| island | a form of land surrounded by water. |
| peninsula | a piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water. |
| plateau | an area of relatively hight level ground. |
| isthmus | a narrow strip of land with sea on either side of it. |
| delta | landforms by layers of sand, silts and small rock that flow down stream and are deposited at the mouth of the river. |
| floodpain | a plain thats built up by depostition. |
| rift | a crack, split or break in something. |
| archipelago | a group of islands. |
