Landforms
| Term | Definition |

| Plain | An extensive area of level or rolling treeless country |
| Tributary | A stream feeding a larger stream or lake |
| Glacier | A large body of ice moving slowly down a slope or valley spreading outward on a land surface |
| Strait | A comparatively narrow passageway connecting two large bodies of water |
| Island | A tract of land surrounded by water and smaller than a continent |
| Peninsula | A portion of land nearly surrounded by water and connected with a larger body by an isthmus. |
| Plateau | A usually extensive land area having a relatively level surface raised sharply above adjacent land on at least one side |
| Isthmus | A narrow strip of land connecting two larger land areas |
| Delta | The alluvial deposit at the mouth of a river |
| Floodplain | A plain built up by stream deposition |
| Rift | A clear space or interval |
| Archipelago | An expanse of water with many scattered islands |
| Bog | A poorly drained usually acid area rich in accumulated plant material, frequently surrounding a body of open water |
| Fjord | A narrow inlet of the sea between cliffs or steep slopes |
