landform mostly surrounded by water but connected to the mainland; larger than a cape peninsula
part of a lake or ocean partly surrounded by land (usually smaller than a gulf) bay
steep rising mass of land; usually at least 1000 feet high mountain

large area of flat or nearly flat land on top of a large hill mesa
large area of high, flat land with steep sides plateau
