Tributary A stream or river that flows into a larger stream or river
Erosion The gradual wearing away of the Earth's surface. It has worn down the peaks of the Appalachian Mountains
Population The number of people who live in an area
Contiguous These are all of the states that touch in the United States. Hawaii and Alaska are seperate
River System A River and all of its tributaries
Environment the surroundings in which people plants and animals live
Climate the kind of weather a place has over a long period of time
Relative Location and area in which many features are similar
Region A place that is compared to other places.
Why were some early cities built near rivers? The water was used in many ways, as transporting of goods and to drink.
What are two landform types found in Tennessee Plateau - we live here... the cumberland plateau, (it is like a mountain, but flat on top) The Appalachian Mountains - also found in Tennessee they are grassy and have a lot of trees.
What is erosion? the wearing away of the earths surface
Can clouds cause erosion? NO
Can sand cause erosion? YES
Can wind cause erosion> YES
Can water cause erosion? YES
