Sedentary Societies groups of people who settled in permanent villages or towns.
Semi-sedentary Societies Groups of people who settled in villages or towns but moved every few years in search of food.
Non-sedentary Groups of people who moved continually in search of food.
Mesoamerica A region that stretches from modern-day Mexico to Nicaragua.
Maya Ancient Native American civilization that developed in what is now Mexico.
Inca Native Americans civilization that developed in what is now Peru.
Aztec Native American civilization that spread through what is now Mexico.
Pueblo Native Americans who build great mud-brick cities.
Migrate To move from one region to another.
Society Groups of people with common interests, customs, and ways of life.
Civilzation Complex society in which people share key characteristics such as language and religion.
Slash-and-burn Process of clearing land by cutting down and burning trees.
