What is a camel caravan? A group of traders traveling on camels through the desert.Camels later called "ships of the desert."
What is the Qur' an? One of the three main holy books of Islam.Other 2 books Sunnah and Shariah.
What was an extended family in early Africa? Parents,children,and close relatives living together in one household.
What's a kente? Brightly handwoven cloth made in west Africa.
Muslims went on a journey to a sacred place what was this journey called? A pilgramage.Muslims had to make a pilgramage to mecca at least once in a Hajj as one of the 5 pillars of Islam.
What is a Mosque? A building for muslim prayer.
Where are oasis' and what are they? Wet fertile areas in the DESERT.
Who was Muhammad? An Arabian prophet who's ways and teachings became the basis of the Islam religion.
What was the main trading port in West Africa? Ghana,located between the Niger and Sengal river
What were the two groups of Islam? Shia and Sunni.Sunni believe caliphs don't have to be related to muhammad, shias do.
