TermDefinition
Rationalism A belief in reason and logic as the primary source of knowledge.
Geocentric Having Earth as the center (Geo is Greek for "Earth").
Heliocentric Having the sun at the center (Helios is Greek for "sun").
Orbit The path that one heavenly body (such as a planet) follows around another (such as the sun).
Projectile An object fined or launched such as a cannon ball.
Mass The amount of matter in an object.
Copernican Theory Everything revolves around the sun, opposite of what the church thought.
Hypothesis An idea or assumption to be tested in an experiment.
Data Facts of information.
Microscope An instrument that uses lenses to make small objects appear larger.
Barometer An instrument used for measuring changes in the pressure of the atmosphere.
Thermometer An instrument used for measuring tempature.
