| Protista | Unicellular or colonial; have nucleus and organelles |
| Fungi | Mainly multi-cellular; plantlike, but cannot carry out photosynthesis |
| Plantae | Multicellular; carry out photosynthesis |
| Animalia | Multicellular; possess complex organ system |
| Cerebrum | Controls all voluntary activities; receives and interprets sensory information |
| Cerebellum | Coordinates muscle activity |
| Hypothalamus | Regulates homeostasis and secretes horomones |
| Medulla | Controls involuntary actions such as breathing and swallowing |
| Cell membrane | Outer membrane of the cell; controls what enters and leaves the body |
| Centrioles | Form spindle fibers during cellular division |
| Golgi Body | Sorts and packages proteins |
| Lysosomes | Digest old organelles and foreign substances |
| Mitochondria | Produce energy for the cell |
| Nucleolus | Part of the nucleus; makes ribosomes |
| Nucleus | Control center of the cell; contains the chromosomes |
| Ribosomes | Site of protein synthesis |
| Rough endoplasmic reticulum | Makes proteins to be exported out of cell. Studded with ribosomes |
| Smooth endoplasmic reticulum | Makes lipids and detoxifies enzymes |
| Vacuole | Stores wastes and other minerals |
