| Collectives | When ownership and decision-making are in the hands of the government |
| Nationalism | Belief that people should be loyal to the people with whom they share a common history, culture and/or religion |
| Domino Theory | The idea that if one country falls to communism, others will fall as well. |
| Doctrine | Ideas or policies presented for the approval of others Also means policies governments use in relationships with foreign counties |
| Diplomacy | The tactics and skills used to handle relationships with foreign countries |
