Fordney-McCumber Tariff Raised taxes on some US imports to 60%-the highest level ever. It protected US business from foreign competiton
Ohio Gang The president's poker playing cronies, who would soon cause a great deal of embarrasment to Harding
Teapot Dome Scandal SEcretary of the Interiror Albert B. Fall's secret leasing of oil-rich public land to private companies in return for money and land
Albert B. Fall managed to get the oil reserves transferred from the navy to the Interior Department. Then, secretly leased the land to 2 private oil companies. He became the first American to be convicted of a felony while holding a cabinet post.
Urban Sprawl The unplanned and uncontrolled spreading of cities into surrounding regions
Installment Plan An arrangement in which a purchaser pays over an extended time, without having to down much money at the time of purchase.
