QuestionAnswer
yellow journalism It is to lie in order to make more money or someone more interested.
Spanish- American War It was the war against America and Spain. It was because of mistreatment of Cuba and everyone thinking that Spain blew up the American boat the Maine.
Rough Riders They were a group of volunteer soldiers that Teddy Roosevelt had made for the Spanish-American war.
Buffalo Soldiers It was a group of African-American soldiers that fought in the Spanish-American War.
isthmus It is a narrow strip of land that connected larger areas.
trust A lot of companies that come together to form groups. They are a lot like monopolies and often have high prices.
Progressives They were reformers who worked to stop unfair practices by government and businesses.
Muckrakers They were writers that uncovered what some people saw as "muck". They were progressives.
Blue Laws They were made to keep people safe but not a lot of people liked them because they kept them from doing things that they liked to do.
World War 1 It was a war fought from 1914 to 1918 between the central and allied powers. The United States joined the allied in 1917 which led them to victory.
nationalism It is love of your country. You want your country free from another.
alliance To agree with other nations that you will defend one another.
isolationism To let another country deal with something on it's own.
League of Nations It was an organisation formed after World War 1 to stop any more wars from happening.
