How did the colonists ideas about government differ from those of the English Parliament? They disagreed about government because the colonists thought that the people should be in charge. The Parliament thought that the king should be in charge and could tax the colonies.
Why is the Declaration of Independence an important document? The Declaration of Independence is important because it states that every citizen has the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
What contributions did Virginians make during the Revolutionary War Era? Patriots signed up for the Continental Army and fought for Virginia. Women worked on the farms while their husbands were at war.
What did George Washington contribute during the Revolutionary War Era? He led the Continental Army to a victory.
What did Thomas Jefferson contribute during the Revolutionary War Era? He wrote the Declaration of Independence.
What did Patrick Henry contribute during the Revolutionary War Era? He gave famous speeches about how the colonies should be ruled. One of his famous sayings is "Give me liberty or give me death."
What did James Lafayette contribute during the Revolutionary War Era? He spied on the British and led the Continental Army to victory.
