What was the Sussex Pledge? Germans promise to give a warning before sinking any cruise ships.
When was our declaration of war? April 1917
What was a reason we decided to join? To keep the world safe for democracy.

Who was the leader of the food administration? Herbert Hoover
Who was the leader of fuel administration? Harry Garfield
How did we finance the war? Tax increases and liberty bonds.
What were the Espionage and Sedition acts? We cannot speak out against the government or we are arrested.
What resulted from the Schenck vs US case? The government has the right to restrict freedom of speech in clear and present danger.
What was the Selective Service Act (1917)? Men are drafted into the military.
What is the name of the forces that are sent overseas? American Expeditionary Forces

Where were some major battles fought? Chateau, Marne River, Bellau Wood, Meuse River/Argonne Forest.
What were some of the points in the 14 point peace plan? Freedom of the seas, no secret treaties, reduction in arms, self determination, a general association of nations
What treaty ended WWI? Treaty of Versailles
Who was the 'Big Four' of Britain? David Lloyd George
Who was the 'Big Four' of France? Georges Clemenceau

Who were the 'Powder Keg' of Europe? The Balkans.
What was the convoy system? When boats are being sunk, military escorts our ships.
Who was General Von Hidenburg? The leader of German troops.

What was the Mandate system? New colonial rulers must report on administration to League of Nations.
