Articles of Confederation The first constitution of the thirteen states. Adopted in 1781 and replaced in 1789 with the Constitution
Monarchy A form of government with a monarchy at the head
Unitarianism A government in which there is only one party or branch
Constitution The supreme law of the land in America, The system of fundamental principles according to wich USA is governed
Separation of Powers the principle or system of vesting in separate branches the executive legislative and judicial power of a government.
Checks and Balances A system that allows each branch of a government to amend or vita acts of another branch to prevent another Brach having too much power
Legislative Having the power to make laws and interpret
Judicial The branch of the United States government responsible for the administration of justice
Executive The executive branch carries out the law and has sole authority and responsibility for the daily administration of the state
Citizenship The state of being vested of the rights and privileges of a citizen
Amendments a minor changer addition to the constitution/document
Congress the national legislative body of the US. They were representatives of their state
Senate the smaller upper house in the US congress. Each state gets 2 representatives
House of Rep. Lower house of the US congress and other legislators, including most US state government
