What are primary sources? Things that survive from the time being studied e.g A diary
What are secondary sources? Evidence that does not come from the time being studied e.g A history textbook
What are manuscripts? Hand-written documents
What is an artefact? Anything that has been made or used by people
What is Prehistory? The time before writing was invented
Name some ways of dating artefacts Stratigraphy, carbon dating, and pollen analysis
What does BC stand for? Before Christ
What does AD stand for? Anno Domini(year of the Lord)
