Bombing of H & N

games for bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki

Hiroshima A city in the western region of Japan's largest island. It was the target of the first nuclear bomb released on the world.
Nagasaki A city on the island of Kyushu in Japan. It was the target of the second nuclear bomb released on the world.
August 6, 1945 The date Hiroshima was bombed.
August 9, 1945 The date that Nagasaki was bombed.
Little Boy 4,400 kg bomb filled with Uranium-235 that was released upon Hiroshima. It's fire ball had a radius of 1,200 ft in diameter and had a temperature of 7,200 degrees fahrenheit.
Fat Man Bomb released on Nagasaki. It was filled with Plutonium instead of Uranium and should have been more powerful than Little Boy.
80,000 Approximate number of people who died on impact due to the Hiroshima bombing.
39,000 Approximate number of people who died on impact due to the Nagasaki bombing.
200,000 Approximate number of people who died from both bombings and the side affects. Side affects included injuries attained directly from the bomb and radiation poison.
Allied Powers Main members consisted of the United States, the Soviet Union, and Britain.
Axis Powers Main members consisted of Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan.
Kokura The city that the United States was supposed to bomb instead of Nagasaki. Due to poor weather conditions, however, Nagasaki was replaced as the target.
Manhattan Project Project funded by the federal government and approved by President Roosevelt. A team of approximately 100,000 scientists worked together to build the atomic bomb.
