Cash Crops Crops that were sold for profit.
Puritans Wanted to purify, or reform, the Anglican Church
Pilgrims A Separatist group that left England in the early 1600's to escape persecution.

Mayflower Compact A legal contact in which they agreed to have fair laws to protect the general good.
Squanto An Indian that helped the pilgrims survive.
John Winthrop A person who led a fleet of ships for Massachusetts seeking religious freedom.

Peter Stuyvesant Led New York and New Jersey.
Quakers A large religious group in New Jersey.
