Protective Tarriff Sheilds products of the nations infant industries from foreign competition
Anti-Federalists Wanted a weak national government so that it would not threaten the right of the people or the power of the states
Neutrality Refusing to take part in war between other powers
Nullification Attempting to prevent the operation and enforced within its territory of a law of the United States
Mayflower Compact A contract in whick the colonists concented to be governed by a government that they created
Mercantalism An economic system that believed that a stron nation was built by accumulating precious metals through increasing exports, protecting industries, & establishing colonies.
Great Compromise Gave something to both large and small states, created the congress
Electoral College A group of people who elect the president
Northwest Ordinance of 1787 A law that established a procedure for the admission of new states to the union
