What is Beringia? Where is/ was it located? It is a land bridge. It is located in the Bering Sea. But was in between the Chriquie seas and the bering.
What is supposed to have occured on Beringia? The asians walked across it.

What were the four earliest civilizations in America. When and where did they live? Olmec- 1500 B.C., Central Mexico. Mayan- 100- B.C. Guatemala, Belize. Aztec-A.D. 1300, Central mexico. Inca- A.D 1500, South America.
What were the major accomplishements of the earliest settlers? Olmec- Stone head carvings, agriculture. Mayan-calendar. Aztec- causeways. Inca- massive palaces.

What were the crusades? How did they play a role in expolring the new world? A series of wars fought by Christians to control holy lands. They contacted other civilizations which led to new foods.
When and what was the Renassaisance? New burst of learning late 14th century.
Who was Christopher Columbus? What did he do that was so unusual? He was an explorer who sailed west to go east.
Why were Native Americans called Indians? Because they were native to the East Indies.
For what were the explorers looking? Why? They were looking for new land for Queen Isabella who was running out of wealth. They could also get new foods and things.
What were the reasons the colonies were established in North America? Religious, Economic, Political, Gold, Silver, Land.
Who was Martin Luther? How did he contribute (unintentionally) to the colinozation of North America? A german monk. Who started up protestants seperatist by accident.
When and what was the Reformation? When Martin Luther pinned the 95 thesis to the church door and publicly started talking about the bad things of the Roman Catholic Church.In the early 1500s
What countries were invlolved with establishing colonies in North America? England, France, Spain, Holland, Portugal.
What was Roanoke? An island off the coast of North Carolina where John White couldn't bring supplies back for 3 years.
What countries brought the first African SLaved to North America? Spain and Portugal.
What is the difference between and indentured servant and a slave? Indentured- under a contract, slave- entire life.
What country formed the friendliest releationship with the Indians? France
Who was Peter Minuit? purchased manhattan island in 1626
Who was King Henry the 8 and what did he do to help colonize? He was the leader of the Church of England, and he was the problem that could puritand and seperatists.
What is the difference between puritans and seperatists? puritans wanted to purify the church and spereatists wanted to seperate.
To which of the Puritans and Seperatist did the Pilgrims belong? The Seperatists.
What and when was Jamestown? Jamestown was the first English settlement established in 1607.
