Soccer Passing Terms
Vocabulary for passing lesson in the Soccer unit

| Chip Pass | A pass that is lofted into the air to a teammate | |
| Push Pass | A ball that played with the inside of the foot | |
| Cross | A ball that is played from the outside of the field into the middle of the field near the goal. Usually a ball that is played in the air. | |
| Give and Go | When a player passes the ball to a teammate and continues their run and receives the ball right back from teammate | |
| Through Ball | When a ball is passed through two defenders to a teammate that is running on to the ball | |
| Down the Line | A ball that is passed straight down the field close to the touchline | |
| Drop Pass | When the ball is passed backwards to a teammate | |
| Trap | When a player uses his/her body to slow down and control a ball with chest, thigh, or foot | |
| Outlet Pass | When a player in the defensive end passes the ball towards other teams goal in order to relieve pressure and start an attack |
