What is a plantation? forest, farm or estate, where crops are grown for sale
What is salutary neglect? policy of avoiding strict enforcement of parliamentary laws, meant to keep the American colonies obedient to England.
What is the Middle Passage? the stage of the triangular trade in which millions of people from Africa[1] were shipped to the New World, as part of the Atlantic slave trade.
What was the economy of New England? had very small farms, but depended mostly on ship building and foresting
What was the economy of the middles colonies? depended on some farms, but also commerce
What was the economy of southern colonies? depended on agriculture and had large plantations
What was the first succesful colony in America? Jamestown in Virginia
What are reasons people came to America? Riches and religion
What is mercantilism? when nations export more goods than they import to get rich
What is nationlism? when colonists become more loyal to the colonies than to their mother country
