Question | Answer |
Graphic | A picture or chart (graph) on a computer screen. |
Pixel | A picture element or tiny dot used to make up a picture on screen. |
Tools | Different shapes and other things to help you to draw graphics easily. |
Tool Attributes | Certain properties of tools that you can change the appearance of, e.g. line thickness or colour. |
Scale Graphic | Changing the size of a graphic. |
Rotate Graphic | Turning a graphic round by a number of degrees. |
Edit Graphic | Changing a graphic in some way, e.g. colour, size. |
Crop Graphic | To reduce a graphic in size by cutting parts of it away. |
Zoom | When the graphic page is bigger on screen for viewing. It stays the original size for printing. |
Toolbar | A menu of tools that are available in the package, e.g. circle tool or freehand tool. |
Cursor | The mouse pointer that you see on screen. |
Bit Mapped Graphic | A picture made up of tiny dots on the screen called pixels. |
Vector Graphic | A drawing package graphic made up of different objects on screen, e.g. shapes. |
Resolution | The quality of the graphic. The smaller the size of the pixels, the finer the lines on screen. |
Scan | Using an input device to create a digital file of a picture or drawing. |
High Resolution | Graphics made up from a large number of small pixels. |
Low Resolution | Graphics made up from a small number of large pixels. |
Fill | When a full shape has a pattern, gradient or colour inside it. Only possible for 'joined up' shapes. |
