Sons of Liberty | The Sons of Liberty were people who protested against the King and asked for freedom and more rights. |

Battle of Bunker Hill 1775 | Proved the colonists could take on the British. |
Patriots | Colonists known as Patriots chose to fight for independence. |
Common Sense | A 47- page pamphlet published in January 1776 that arged seperation from Great Britian. |
Minutemen | Members of the civilian volunteer militia. |
Townshend Acts 1767 | June 1767: These acts placed duties on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. |
The Great Awakening | A religious movement that swept through the colonies in the 1730s and 1740s. |
Boston Tea Party 1773 | After dumping over 340 tea chests into the Boston Harbor, the colonists headed home to remove their disguises. Known as the Boston Tea Party. |
Second Continental Congress 1775 | May 1775: Delegates from 12 colonies met in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress. |
First Continental Congress 1774 | A gathering in the fall of 1774 of delegates from throughout the colonies. |
