| battlefields | a place where a battle takes place |
| armour | defensive covering, as of metal, wood, or leather, worn to protect the body against weapons |
| aristocrat | a member of an upper class of society, usually made up of hereditary nobility |
| medieval times | Time period from roughly 500-1500. Also known as "Middle Ages" |
| sword | a weapon with a long sharp metal blade and a handle |
| archaeologist | a scientist who learns about ancient people by studying the things they left behind |
| warrior | a person who has experiece in fighting in wars |
| Bronze Age | the period from 3000 to 1200 BCE |
| Empire | A group of states or territories controlled by one ruler |
| revolution | a forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system. |
| civil war | a war between citizens of the same country |
| campaign | a series of military actions carried out for a certain goal |
| firearm | a weapon capable of firing a projectile using a confined explosive as a propellant |
| election | a vote to select the winner of a position or political office |
| bow | a weapon for shooting arrows, made of a long, thin piece of wood bent into a curve by a tightly stretched string |
| monument | a structure erected to commemorate persons or events |
| demonstration | an act of protest by a group of people |
| rebellion | an act of open resistance to an established government, ruler or authority |
| prehistoric | before written history |
| contemporary | current, modern; from the same time |
| exhibit | a public display of the work of artists, or objects of general interest |
| kingdom | A country, state, or territory ruled by a king or queen |
| monarchy | A government in which power is in the hands of a single person |
| imperial | relating to an empire |
| ancestors | people from whom other people descend |
| archives | a place where public records or historical documents are kept; the records or documents kept in such a place |
| descendant | a person considered as descended from some ancestor |
| labourer | someone who works with their hands, worker |
| related | belonging to the same family, group, or type; connected. |
