Colombian Exchange | the widespread transfer of plants, animals, culture, human populations, technology, and ideas |
New England Colonies | Connecticut Colony, Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, Massachusetts Bay Colony, and the Province of New Hampshire |
Middle Colonies | Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware |
Southern Colonies | Province of Maryland, the Colony of Virginia, the Province of Carolina (in 1712 split into North and South Carolina) and the Province of Georgia |
Imports | Something that is shipped to another country from another country |
Exports | To send goods from one country to another |

Indentured Servitude | A person under contract to work for another person for a definite period of time, usually without pay but in exchange for free passage to a new country |
Plantations | An estate on which crops such as coffee, sugar, and tobacco are cultivated by resident labor |
Middle Passage | The sea journey undertaken by slave ships from West Africa to the West Indies |
Triangle Trade | A multilateral system of trading in which a country pays for its imports from one country by its exports to another |
Astrolabe | Used to locate stars/planets and tell time |
Compass | Shows the directions North, South, East and West |
Caravel | smaller, faster sailing ship with interchangeable sails |
