Term | Definition |
Research Report | a multi-page document that usually contains several sub-topics of information related to one main topic |
Title page (not MLA Style) | Part of research report that contains name of document, writer’s name, teacher/professor’s name, and date of publication |
Header (MLA Style only) | placed on every page at top right of the report and includes: writer’s last name and page number |
Body | the paragraph content of the report |
Side Headings | section headings within body of report; keyed at the left margin or indented (MLA style) and underlined |
Parenthetical Citations (MLA Style) | reference notes keyed in the body section of the report |
Endnotes/Footnotes | another type of reference format used to add commentary or to clarify; placed at the end of the report or at bottom of page that contains info that is being commented about or clarified |
Works Cited/References/Bibliography | a complete listing of references cited parenthetically in the Report; keyed on a separate page |
Notes (Page) | a complete list of resources and references used to accompany endnotes; keyed on a separate page |
Line spacing for body of report | Double Spaced (DS) |
Title | The topic of the entire report |
