Prime Minister | The leading minister in Australia. |
representatives | People who represent a large group of people. |
election | An event where citizens vote for a member of government. |
vote | The way to choose someone to represent you in government. |
responsibility | To be in charge of looking after something or someone. |
compulsory | Something you have to do. |
voluntary | To choose to do something for free. |
legislative | The power to make laws. |
parliament | An assembly of representatives that makes laws for a nation; government. |
politician | Someone who is elected by the people to represent them in government. |
Local Government | The level of government whose jobs include rubbish collection and road repairs; also known as a council. |
Premier | The leader of State Government. |
immigration | The process of moving people from their home country to another country. |
welfare | Help from the government in the form of money and services. |
