What is the Fertile Crescent? Where is it?   The Fertile Crecesnt is a crescent-shaped land that consists of Mesopotamia and is a bridge between Africa and Eurasia.

What is Mesopotamia? What does this refer to and who named it?   Mesopotamia means "the land between the two rivers" and the Greeks named it.

Why is this area fertile?   The area is fertile because it has two rivers that flood and leave silt, or fertile soil behind.

What is silt and what does it have to do with the flooding?   Silt is a mixture of wet soil and tiny rocks. It is something floods leave behind.

What is division of labor?   The division of labor is a method Sumerians invented to catergorize different jobs, and divide them into skilled members of society.

What is cuneiform? How was it used? How did it start out?   Cunieform is a form of ancient writting and it was used to engrave the letters into clay. It started out when people started using a more advanced skills of writting as they evolved.

What is a scribe? List details of the job.   A scribe is a person who engraved writting into clay but especially wrote laws.
