What happens to the bill when the president signs it? | it comes a law

What happens to the bill if the President ignores it? | If Congress continues in session for more than 10 days after the bill has been sent to the Pres. the bill automatically becomes law on the 11th day. Sundays are not counted.

What happens to the bill if the President vetos it? | (it is rejected by the Pres.) The Pres. attach in writing objections to the bill and send it back to the house in which it originates. If Congress does not override the bill, then it is dead.

What is overriding a veto? | if each house passes the bill by a 2/3 vote, it becomes a law.

What is pocket veto? | If the Pres. ignores the bill and Congress adjourns within the next 10 days, not counting Sundays, the bill is dead.

What are joint committees? | (purpose is to end shuttling of bills between the House and the Senate when changes occur in a bill) these committees work out the differences in the bill then submit it to Congress.
