Simile   Definition: A comparison of two things using LIKE or AS. Example:The mall was as busy AS a zoo. The mall was LIKE a zoo.

Metaphor   Definition: A comparison of two things by saying that one thing is a dissimilar thing. Most of the time using WAS or IS. Example: The mall IS a zoo

Hyperbole   Definition: Something that cannot possibly be true Example: After swim my arms weigh a TON.

Personification   Definition: giving human qualities to a non-human thing. Example: ... as if the rock had started crying.
