Color Presentations

How do you percieve white? White light occurs when all wave lengths are reflected back to your eye
How do you percieve black? Black light occurs when no light is reflected back to your eye
What is hue? A color that comes from a reflected wavelength
What are the primary colors? Red Yellow and Blue
What are the secondary colors? Violet Green and Orange
What are the tertiary colors? Red-Violet Blue-Violet Blue-Green Yellow-Green Yellow-Orange Red-Orange
What is a saturated color? The colors on the color wheel (they don't use white or black in them)
What three groups make up the color wheel? Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary
What is a tint? Saturated color mixed with a pure white
What is a shade? Saturated color that is mixed with black
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? Red, Yellow, Orange
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? Blue, Green, Violet
What are the five neutral colors? Black, Grey, White, Brown, Tan
What are the six types of color harmonies? Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Split Complementary, Neutral
What is a monochromatic color harmony? Tints and shades of one color
What is an analougus color harmony? 3 or more colors next to each other on the color wheel
What is a complementary color harmony? 2 colors directly across from each other on the color wheel
What is a triadic color harmony? Located within equal distance of each other on the color wheel
What is a split complementary scheme? Any color and the 2 colors that complement
What is a neutral color scheme? Any combo of black, grey, white, brown, tan
