How do you perceive black? | black light occurs when no light is reflected to your eye |
What is hue? | refers to the color itself |
What are the primary colors? | red, blue, and yellow |
What are the secondary colors? | violet, green, and orange |
What are the tertiary colors? | red-violet, blue-violet, blue-green, yellow-green, yellow-orange, red-orange |
What is a saturated color? | when there is no white or black in the color |
What three groups make up the color wheel? | primary, secondary, tertiary |
What is a tint? | a saturated color that is mixed with pure white |
What is a shade? | a saturated color that is mixed with pure black |
What are three colors that are considered to be warm? | red orange and yellow |
What are three colors that are considered cool colors? | blue green and violet |
What are the five neutral colors? | white,black, brown, grey, tan |
what are the six types of color harmonies? | monochromatic, analogous, complementary, triadic, split complementary, neutral |
What is a monochromatic color harmony? | achieved by using tints and shades of only one color |
What is an analogous color harmony? | using three or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel |
What is a complementary color harmony? | two colors that are directly across from each other o the color wheel ex:blue and orange |
What is a triadic color harmony? | three colors that are located within equal distance of each other ex:red, blue, yellow |
What is a split complementary scheme? | created by using any color and the two colors complement ex: yellow, red violet, blue violet |
What is a neutral color scheme? | any combination of blacks, greys, whites, tan, and browns |
