intro color terms

What are the primary colors? Red, Blue, and Yellow
What are the teritary colors? Yellow-Orange, Yellow-Green, Green-Blue, Blue-Violet,Red-Violet,Red-Orange.
What are the secondary colors? Green, Violet, and Orange.
What are analogous colors? 3 or more colors next to eachother on the color wheel.
What are monochromatic Harmony/Scheme mean? 1 color that has different tints and shades.
what are complimentary Harmony/Scheme mean? Colors that are directly across from eachother on the color wheel.
what is a color wheel? A way to show how colors are related to eachother.
what are warm colors? A group of related colors in the range of reds ,oranges, and yellows.
What are cool colors? A group of realated colors the range of blues,greens,and violets.
What is a color scheme? A way of organizing colors. Color schemes include monochromatic, analogous, complementry, warm, and cool colors.
What is a tint? An addition of white to a color.
what is a shade? An addition of black to a color.
What does intensity mean? The brightness or purity of a color.
How many colors from the color wheel are represented in a Monochromatic Harmony/Scheme? Only 1 can be made into different tints and shades.
How many colors from the color wheel are represented in a Complimentary Harmony/Scheme? 12 different ways.
How many colors fro the color wheel are represented in an Analogous Harmony/Scheme? 3 or more colors that are next to eachother on the color wheel.
What colors are neutral colors? Tan, White, Brown , and Black.
What colors are on each side of the color Blue on the color wheel? Blue-Violet and Blue-Green.
What colors are on each side of the color Yellow on the color wheel? Yellow-Green and Yellow-Orange.
What colors are on each side of the color Red on the color wheel? Red-Violet and Red-Orange.
How do you make secondary colors? A mix of the primary colors together.
What is hue? A color or shade.
What color is added to create a tint? White
What color is adde to create a shade? Black
