Color Terms

| How do you percieve white? | white light accurs when all the wavelength are reflected back to your eye |
| How do you percieve black? | black light accurs when no light is reflected to your eye |
| What is hue? | a hue is a color, each different hue is a reflected wavelength of light |
| What are the primary colors? | red, blue and yellow |
| What are the secondary colors? | violet, green and orange |
| What are the tertiary colors? | RV,BV,BG,YG,YO,RO |
| What is a saturated color? | colors used in the color wheel are called saturated colors cause there is no white or black in them |
| What three groups make up the colors wheel? | primary, secondary,tertiary |
| What is a tint? | a saturated color mixed with a pure white color |
| What is a shade? | a saturated color that is mixed with pure black |
| What are the three colors that are considered to be warm colors? | red, orange and yellow |
| What are the three colors that are considered to be cool colors? | blue, green and violet |
| What are the five neutral colors? | black, grey, white, brown and tan |
| What are the six types of color harmonies? | moncchromatic, analougus, complementary, triadic, split complementary and neutral |
| What is a monochromatic color harmony? | achieved colors by using tints and shades of only one color |
| What is analougus color harmony? | done by using 3 or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel |
| What is a complementary color harmony? | using two colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel |
| What is a triadic color harmony? | 3 colors that are located with in equal distances of each other |
| What is a split complementary scheme? | choose any complementary color and go directly across dont use that color instead make a "Y" and use those two colors next to that color that was directley across |
| What is a neutral color scheme? | any combo of whites blacks browns and tans |
