Color Terms

| How do you percieve white? | When all wavelengths reflect back. |
| How do you percieve black? | When no light is reflected back. |
| What is hue? | Another word for color. |
| What are the primary colors? | Red, Yellow, Blue. |
| What are the secondary colors? | Green, Orange, Violet. |
| What are the tertiary colors? | Red-Violet, Blue-Violet, Blue-Green, Yellow-Green, Yellow-Orange, Red-Orange. |
| What is a saturated color? | A color with no white or black in it. |
| What three groups make up the color wheel? | Primary, Secondary, Triade. |
| What is a tint? | A saturated color that is mixed with a pure white color.\ |
| What is a shade? | A saturated color that is mixed with a pure black color |
| What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors? | Yellow, Orange, Red. |
| What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? | Violet, Green, Blue. |
| What are the five neutral colors? | Black, Grey, Tan, White, Brown. |
| What are the six types of color harmonies? | Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary, Triadic, Split Complementary, Neutral. |
| What is a monochromatic color harmony? | Created by using tints and shades of only one color. |
| What is an analougus color harmony? | Done by using three or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. |
| What is a complementary color harmony? | 2 colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel. |
| What is a triadic color harmony? | 3 colors that are located within equal distance of each other. |
| What is a split complementary scheme? | Created by using any color and the two colors located next to that colors compliment. |
| What is a neutral color scheme? | Any combination of Blacks, Grays, Whites, Browns, & Tans. |
