| screen name or user name | the name that someone uses online |
| webmaster | a person who is in charge of a website |
| media | Different ways people communicate with others, such as newspapers, television, radio, and the internet |
| authorship | The origin of a piece of work; usually the person or people who constructed it |
| format | The way a communication is presented; each type has a unique set of creative tools and techniques to help form a message |
| audience | The people who recieve a communication; different people understand the message in different ways |

| misinformation | Information that is not a fact but that appears to be a fact; sometimes done on purpose |
