Dialog box | a box opened by a menu command that allows you to select options or specify information to perform the command |
Folder | an item that helps the user organize files |
Group | an organized set of commands that relates to a specific activity |
Placeholder | preset text boxes |
Presentation | a PowerPoint file. A presentation can contain text, pictures, charts, links to other pages, and other objects. |
Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) | a toolbar that allows users to quickly find commands |
Ribbon | a panel in Microsoft Office that organizes commands into tabs. The Ribbon changes depending on which applications and tools are activated. |
ScreenTip | a description that appears when you point to a button |
Scroll bar | a bar at the right side or bottom of the screen that allows you to move up and down or left and right in a document or a worksheet |
Slide | one page on a presentation |
Status bar | the bar at the bottom of the screen that displays information such as the current page or slide number and the total number of pages or slides in the document |
Tab | a clickable area of the Ribbon that displays menu options |
Title bar | the bar at the top of the screen that displays the name of the current window |
Display | to put or spread before the viewer |
Monitor | to watch and confirm. Also refers to the part of a computer that displays the screen. |
