Administrator An account that is a member of the Administrator group can install or uninstall devices and applications and can perform all administrative tasks.When Windows 2000/XP is first installed,one user account is created in this group and the account call Admin
Backup Operator An account that is a member of the Backup Operator group can back up and restore any files on the system regardless of their access privileges to these files.
Batch file A text file containing a file of OS commands. Autoexec.bat is a batch file.
built-in user accounts An administrator account and guest account that are set up when Windows NT/2000/XP is first installed.
chain A group of clusters used to hold a single file.
compression To store data in a file,folder,or logical drive using a coding format that reduces the size of files in order to save space on a drive or shorten transport while sending a file over the Internet or network.
cross-linked clusters Errors caused when more than one file points to a cluster, and the files appear to share cross-linked clusters
defragment To "optimize" or rewrite a file to a disk in one contiguous chain of clusters, thus speeding up data retrieval.
disk quotas A limit placed on the amount of the disk space that is available to users. Requires a Windows 2000/XP NTFS volume.

fragmented files A file that has been written to different portions of the disk so that it is not in contiguous clusters.
global users accounts Sometimes called a domain user account, the account is used at the domain level, created by an administrator, and stored in the SAM database on a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 domain controller.
