Below Ren 12 area 1.0 – 1.5 cun Perpendicular insertion (Peritoneal cavity beneath)
For points close to pubic symphysis Have patient empty bladder before needling
Over kidneys - .5 – 1.5 cun, oblique insertion towards the spine
Sacral Foramen .5 – 1.0 cun or 1.5 – 2.0 cun if attempting to needle through foramen
