QuestionAnswer
network interface card allows the comptuer to send and recieve electrical and radio signals in a manner that other computers can understand.
hub connection point in a computer device where data from many directions converge and are then sent out in many directions to respective devices.
switch a device that distributes packets or blocks of data, between computers in a network
router a device that connets 2 networks together
modem a device that allows you to connect to the internet
sever a software program, or the computer on which that program runs, that provides a specific kind of service to client software running on the same computer or other computers on a network.
file protection The combination of all processes and procedures established in an information system that are designed to inhibit unauthorized access, contamination, or elimination of a file
Routing Protocols A set of rules or standard that determines how routers on a network communicate  and exchange information with each other, enabling them to select best routes to a remote network.
spooler a temporary storage area within the computer's RAM that contains input or output data.
shared resources A device or piece of information on a computer that can be remotely accessed from another computer.
