Drama terms a

| Dialogue | what the characters say, what action. |
| Gesture | movements of body part. |
| stage directions | tell the actors what to do, were to stand, what to hold. |
| comedy | a drama with a happy ending |
| tragedy | a drama with a tragedy or a unhappy ending. |
| tragic flaw | the quality, belief, personality trait that leads to a characters death or down fall. |
| 1 act play | a drama with few scene usually less then a hours. |
| full length play | many characters, many scenes many conflicts usually last 2 hours or more. |
| monologue | long speech by a character on stage other characters can be her the monologue |
| aside | a brief comment made by a to another character or the audience. |
| soliloquy | a long speech made by a character in which his/her thought and feeling a reveled usually not meant to be heard by other characters. |
