5. WHAT IS AN ADVANTAGE OF HAVING A DEDICATED INTERNET CONNECTION? GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF THE TYPE OF ORGANIZATION THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM A DEDICATED CONNECTION? An advantage from having a dedicated internet connection is being able to be on the computer or Internet ALL the time. Places like colleges have dedicated internet connections because they need to be on it all the time.
6. WHAT IS BANDWIDTH? Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transferred over a network in a specific amount of time.
WHAT DOES DSL STAND FOR? DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line.
WHEN IS A COMPUTER CONSIDERED TO BE ONLINE? When it’s hooked up to a connection device and it has a connection and it’s on.
9. WHAT IS THE IP ADDRESS? The IP address is Internet Protocol
10. DEFINE EACH: HTTP: Indicates the protocol to be used to access a file. WWW: Indicates that the website is on the World Wide Web. .INFOR: Indicates the website is informative in nature.
11. WHAT IS E-Commerce? E-Commerce goes to the business transaction made over the Internet.
12. WHAT IS THE PURPORSE OF PLUG INS? A set of software components that add specific abilities to a larger software applications.
13. IS THEIR A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WWW AND THE INTERNET? EXPLAIN YES OR NO. Yes, the Internet is for connecting and the World Wide Web is for information and sources.
